Get to Know Angie
Hi, my name is Angie Wisdom Stastny! I am a registered dietitian and lover of all things natural. I’ve spent many years supporting clients in medical settings as they navigate chronic disease. I love what I do and find it gratifying to help my clients live their best life. But I’ve always wanted to do more. My true passion is to help people achieve a natural balance through diet and daily habits that will support their body towards healing. This passion is rooted in the things I’ve seen that didn’t have to be in the medical setting and my own personal struggle.
One day my life took a drastic turn. Seemingly overnight , my health went from full function to complete disarray. I could barely walk much less run 5 miles, and my daily routine of caring for my family and working became impossible. I spent many years visiting doctors, undergoing tests and trying various treatments. Although I was completely compliant to all the suggested treatments and medications, I did not get better. One prescription turned into 10. My illness affected every area of my life, my finances, marriage, work performance, social life to name a few. “You’ll just have to live with it,” the doctors would say. My internal compass whispered, “ No way!” I was lucky enough to have coworkers who were physicians. They believed in my ability to think outside the box and find solutions to recover my health. I am so grateful for their encouragement and support as I faced that giant hurdle. But I wanted to do more.
Each health challenge became a mini course in alternative therapies and a type of nutrition called functional nutrition. Functional nutrition takes into account the way modern influences like chemicals, stress and our daily habits effect our body systems. Once imbalances are identified, the functional approach provides natural interventions using food, herbs, targeted supplements and daily practices to support the body as it heals. Functional nutrition gave me the tools to recover my health. I am able to function at a level that I never thought would be possible. I am truly thankful for my health challenges. I view each hurdle as a new opportunity to learn and grow as a practitioner, to be more compassionate and to gain the type of insight that can only come from being there myself.

I use a holistic, science based approach with my clients. Most people who come to me for help are looking for strategies to recover from a specific health challenge, avoid or move away from depending on prescription drugs. Many of them have exhausted all of the recommended treatments from their doctors but still aren’t seeing the improvements in their health. I start with a detailed health questionnaire that helps me identify imbalances in the Seven Foundational Pillars of Health. Some areas of focus are balanced nutrition, sleep, stress management, digestion and movement. I partner with each client to create a step by step approach to restore balance to the body as a whole.

The Seven Pillars of Health are the foundation of wellness. Modern day life has greatly altered our daily habits which can send our health in to a downward spiral. I use a detailed health questionnaire to start the process of identifying areas of imbalance within the Seven Pillars. We spend time discussing current daily habits, family and personal medical history, current prescription medications, physical complaints and how to modify your habits towards healing. Together, we prioritize your health goals and establish realistic action steps that are fun and achievable. We determine the time, duration and level of support that you need to be successful.
